Day 01
Arrival at Paro
Paro – Thimphu
By road 50 km in 1.5 hr

Welcome to Bhutan, the Land of the Thunder Dragon. Upon arrival, you will be met and greeted by your Bhutanese guide and transferred to the capital town of Thimphu.

Upon arrival at Thimphu, visit the Buddha Point. It is located in close proximity to the city centre. Enjoy the amazing view of the valley from this point. You may offer prayers to the largest statue of Buddha in the country.

Proceed to the hotel. Check-in & relax. The day will be free for the acclimatization.

Dinner will be served at the hotel.

Overnight will be in Thimphu.

Day 02
Thimphu

Have breakfast at the hotel.

Enjoy the city sightseeing of capital town visiting Takin Preserve, Tashichho Dzong, Dechen Phodrang, Folk Heritage and National Textile Museums, King’s Memorial Chorten, Handicrafts Emporium, National Library, Painting School, National Institute of Traditional Medicine.

Lunch will be arranged at local restaurant.

Also visit Thangtong Dewachen Nunnery and interact with a few nuns who have devoted their life to spirituality and Buddhism.

Explore local markets in the evening.

Dinner will be served at hotel.

Overnight will be in Thimphu.

Day 03
Thimpu – Punakha
By road 85 km in 03 hrs

Have breakfast at the hotel.

Drive to Dochula pass (3,050m) and enjoy beautiful views (subject to weather conditions) of a range of high Himalayan peaks towards the north east.

Later drive to Wangdue Phodrang.

The descent from Dochula into WangduePhodrang valley is quite long as the altitude difference is 1700 meters. Visit the valley and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

Drive to Punakha. Reach and enjoy the sightseeing visiting Khamshum Yalley Temple, Punakha Dzong and Chhimi Lhakhang.

Reach the hotel and check-in. Relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the town.

Dinner will be served at hotel.

Overnight will be in Punakha.

Day 04
Punakha – Paro
By road 125 km in 4.5 hrs

Have breakfast at the hotel.

Later drive to Paro. En route visit Semtokha Dzong. This dzong, built in 1627 is the oldest in Bhutan. It now houses the Institute for Language and Culture Studies.

Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

Arrive at Paro and check-in to the hotel. Refresh and start for a visit to a local farm house to witness the life of a farmer. Enjoy few moments over tea /coffee and interact with locals.

Dinner will be served at hotel.

Overnight will be in Paro.

Day 05
Paro

Have breakfast at the hotel.

Proceed for the sightseeing of Paro including Kyichu Lhakhang, National museum, Rinpung Dzong.

Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

Later proceed for an excursion to Kila Gompa – home of Buddhist nuns who have dedicated their life for spiritual fulfillment and leading undisturbed life of religious studies, prayer and meditation.

Return to the hotel and Dinner will be served at hotel.

Overnight will be in Paro.

Day 06
Paro (Tiger’s Nest hike)

Have breakfast at the hotel. We will organize packed lunch for the day visit or you can also enjoy refreshments at the only outlet – Tiger Den café.

Rest of the day will be at leisure.

Dinner will be served at the hotel.

Overnight will be in Paro.

Day 07
Paro – departure

As per your flight timings, you will be transferred to Paro airport to take flight back home / onward destination with pleasant memories of Bhutan tour.
