Day 01 – Hanoi Arrival

ADHVAN representative will receive you at the NOI BAI airport in HANOI and transfer to the hotel.

Check-in & relax. The day will be free at leisure.

Overnight will be in Hanoi.

Day 02 – Hanoi

Have breakfast at the hotel.

Proceed for Hanoi city tour.

Commence the tour with a visit to Ba Dinh Square, where silent sentries guard the marble and Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum where Ho Chi Minh lies in state (closed on every Monday & Friday and October & November) and see the simple cottage where Uncle Ho lived and worked. You’ll continue to visit the One Pillar Pagoda and hear the legend of its construction, born from the love of an emperor in the 11th Century.

Later, we will drive to visit the serene Tran Quoc Pagoda, the oldest in Hanoi, on the banks of Hanoi’s West Lake. You’ll also call at the Temple of Literature, built in 1070 and the dedicated to Confucius; it is a serene retreat from the busy streets outside and later become Vietnam’s first university.

The lunch will be served at a local restaurant.

After lunch, visit the Ethnology Museum for an overview of Vietnam’s 54 distinct ethnic groups and enjoy an orientation of the tree-lined streets of Hanoi, resplendent with French colonial architecture, including the recently restored Opera House. Pass by Hoan Kiem Lake, also known as Lake of Restored Sword from the legend that surrounds it en-route to one of the city’s fascinating museums.

You’ll then be visiting to watch the Water Puppet show an art form unique to northern Vietnam, and a good, light-hearted introduction to its rural culture.

Later you’ll take to the streets by walking tour of the Ancient Quarter of 36 streets District. This densely populated corner of the city was once a centre of commerce where goods were sold under the street name of a particular guild. Still a thriving community of sellers today, you’ll see streets name such as Sugar Street, Tin Street and Paper Street. Ancient homes and temples are interspersed with stores in this souvenir hunter’s paradise.

In the evening enjoy the performance of CHEO (traditional music typical from Northern Vietnam).

Overnight will be in Hanoi.

Day 03 – Hanoi – Ha Long Bay (By boat and road in 04 hrs)

Have breakfast at the hotel.

You’ll leave for Ha Long Bay (one of the most spectacular UNESCO World Heritage Sites – the world’s largest marine “karst” landscape), which is often called Vietnam’s eighth wonder of the world and once visited, it is hard to dispute that claim. 4000 spectacular limestone outcroppings, cliffs, arches and coves compete for space in an area that is without a doubt the most outstandingly naturally beautiful in the country – incomparable coastal scenery.

On arrival, you will board your boat, a wooden junk based on the model of the old Vietnamese court vessels with sails, a wide transom and rectangular superstructure. The boats vary in size, accommodating between ten and eighteen people, so you’re likely to be joining other travellers for the cruise with air-conditioned cabins and an en-suite toilet and shower.

The boat cruise will take you first to the busy World Heritage area Ha Long Bay, which is translated as “Descending Dragon”. You’ll stop off at an islet and climb through a series of breathtaking caves and grottoes, marvelling at some of the most impressive stalactite and stalagmite formations (extraordinary limestone karst landscapes) anywhere in the world.

Later we will be taking a stop at secluded beach where you can enjoy cruising among the cave dotted island and seeing the small fishing boats with are always feature of this lovely bay. Weather permitting, you’ll be able to swim, fish, and climb a hill for an overview of the Bay’s remarkable seascape.

All your meals will be provided on board, usually based on fresh seafood.

Overnight will be onboard boat in Ha Long Bay.

Day 04 – Ha Long Bay

Have breakfast on the boat.

Enjoy the day cruising in Ha Long Bay.

All meals will be served on board.

Overnight will be onboard boat in Ha Long Bay.

Day 05 – Ha Long Bay – Hanoi (By boat and road in 04 hrs)

The best time of the day on Ha Long Bay is the morning.

Relax with an early morning cup of tea, coffee or juice anywhere you wish on the boat and watch the never-ending miraculous scenery unfold before you.

Light breakfast will be served in the restaurant onboard (pastries, tea and coffee).

Spend the morning cruising Ha Long Bay, followed by early brunch just before docking to the harbour at around noon time.

Check out of your cabin as we draw closer to the mainland. After a final early brunch and a last goodbye from the crew, you will board our tender and head back to the wharf where your return trip vehicle to transfer you to Hanoi will meet you.

On the way back from Ha Long, you’ll enter one of the villages nearby to enjoy the life of the Northern farmer. If time permits, you can visit a school for children.

Drive to Hanoi. Reach and get transferred to your hotel for check-in.

Overnight will be in Hanoi.

Day 06 – Hanoi – Hue (By air)

Have breakfast at the hotel.

The morning will be free at leisure and relax.

As per the flight timings, we will transfer you to the airport for your flight to Hue.

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Proceed for city tour of Hue.

Commence the tour by visiting the Imperial Citadel of Hue, once the seat of the Emperors of the powerful Nguyen Dynasty that ruled Vietnam from 1802 to 1945. Later stroll around the area between the Citadel’s massive walls and the defensive moat; now filled with lotus flowers.

We will then enter via the Noon Gate to wander around the Thai Hoa Palace, the Pavilion housing the Nine Urns of the Nguyen rulers and the remains of the Royal Palaces.

Proceed to visit the Antiquity Museum.

Also visit bustling Dong Ba market, which is one of the most famous markets in the Centre areas.

Overnight will be in Hue.

Day 07 – Hue

Have breakfast at the hotel.

Proceed to board a boat cruise to visit Thien Mu Pagoda, one of the most famous structures in Vietnam on the banks of the Perfume River – very tranquil.

Later drive to the Royal Tombs of Minh Mang (King Minh Mang’s Tomb), the most majestic emperor and a staunch follower of Confucianism with many wives, concubines and a small army of children. Planned by the Emperor and built shortly after his death in formal Chinese style, it’s opulent and exotic, and a good example of classic Sino-Vietnamese architecture.

Lunch will be served at local restaurant.

In the afternoon, drive to visit Royal Tu Duc’s Tomb, the “poet Emperor”, is set in an elegant garden with a magnificent lake and pavilion complex. The simplest of the actual tomb (a monument – he was buried elsewhere to thwart grave robbers) is at odds with the lavish opulence of his reign.

Also, visit the Garden Houses – (a cultural characteristic in Hue)

Later visit the Royal Khai Dinh Tomb is an unprepossessing concrete construction on the side of a wide valley. Its interest lies in the uneasy combination of Vietnamese and European features, the use of fragments of ceramics and glass for decoration, and the striking views from the courtyard in front of the mausoleum.

In the evening you’ll be picked up to enjoy a Hue musical show on a boat in the Perfume River for about an hour.

Overnight will be in Hue.

Day 08 – Hue – Danang – Hoi An (By road 150 km in 03 hrs)

Have breakfast at the hotel.

Drive to Hoi An via Lang Co Beach and the lagoon far below. We will then cross the high mountain pass of Hai Van with excellent view to see Danang spread out.

The lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Danang.

After lunch, you’ll have a brief to visit Cham museum, remarkable Hindu statuary. The Cham left a legacy of excellent sculptures as they were pushed south by the advancing Vietnamese invaders.

Later visit China Beach; immortalized for many by the US television show and still one of the most spectacular beaches in Asia.

You’ll then visit the Marble Mountain – Stone Carving village where you can admire the stone products of local people.

Later continue travel to Hoi An. Check-in at the hotel and relax.

Proceed for a guided visit to the Ancient Town and enjoy its considerable significance in the history of Vietnam town. The town is an ancient trading port, once the largest in Indochina and a meeting point for many cultures that left their mark in the different architectural features of its wooden buildings.

You’ll enter a narrow street to look at a unique Japanese covered bridge, Chinese communal house, shop for art at one of the numerous galleries and enjoy the riverside ambience.

Overnight will be in Hoi An.

Day 09 – Hoi An / Eco Tour (small group tour) – By bicycle and boat

Have breakfast at the hotel.

Proceed for “Eco – From Farmer to Fisherman tour” which takes about more than 5 hours by bicycle and boat.

Touching the local fishing life by using the fishing net, riding funny basket boat and visiting water palm coconut paradise and learning about history about the Vietnamese people throughout daily activity are great things to explore…

Day 11 – Hoi An – Danang – Ho Chi Minh – By air

Have breakfast at the hotel.

The morning will be free at leisure.

We will transfer you to the airport for the flight to Ho Chi Minh City.

Upon arrival at TAN SAN NHAT airport, you will be met and driven to the hotel. Check-in and relax.

Overnight will be at Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 12 – Ho Chi Minh (Excursion of Cu Chi Tunnels)

Have breakfast at the hotel.

Drive to visit Cu Chi Tunnels (intricate network of underground passages and bunkers that became legendary during the 1960’s for their role in the war of liberation) – a byzantine maze of underground passages, chambers, rooms and booby traps used by both the Vietminh and the Viet Cong to suddenly materialize as if from nowhere, launch a lightning ambush, and vanish equally rapidly..

Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

Later in the afternoon start for the city tour including the History Museum (special exhibition of the 5th century “Oc Eo” civilization), the Museum of War Remnants (provides a very partial, but riveting, recollections of the “American War”), the Centre Post Office with colonial building and the Cathedral Church.

Continue and visit the Jade Emperor Temple. It’s one of the best Taoist temples in Vietnam with superb effigies, remarkable carved panels of the descent to Hell and somewhat incongruous terrapin and tortoise sanctuaries.

You will enjoy the visit to Ben Thanh market, one of the liveliest areas of Ho Chi Minh City, is packed with every conceivable commodity and a visit to lacquer workshop to see the complex processes and meticulous workmanship involved in this traditional Vietnamese craft product.

Overnight will be in Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 13 – Ho Chi Minh – My Tho – Can Tho – By road and boat in 05 hrs

Have breakfast at the hotel.

Drive to Can Tho visiting en-route My Tho – a city near ho Chi Minh.

Upon arrival at My Tho, take a boat trip along Tien River. Enjoy sightseeing around four beautiful Islets: Dragon, Unicorn, Tortoise and Phoenix.

Later visit a local coconut candy workshop; taste candy (special product of Ben Tre province).

Take horse-cart for a short distance through Quoi son village and stopover at orchard. Study how local people breed bees in wooden boxes at their farm and make handicraft from coconut trunk and shell. Try honey with tea or wine and seasonal fruits; enjoy traditional music. Take rowing-boat on narrow water palm creek.

Lunch will be on islet.

You’ll proceed further into the Mekong Delta to Can Tho. Check-in and relax at the hotel.

Overnight will be in Can Tho.

Day 14 – Can Tho – Ho Chi Minh – By road and boat in 04 hrs

Breakfast will be at the hotel.

Proceed to Ninh Kieu harbour.

Reach and embark on two-hour boat trip to cruise along the Mekong River to Cai Rang floating market. Enjoy the Mekong rural lifestyle.

The lunch will be served at a local restaurant.

Later in the afternoon drive to Ho Chi Minh City.

Overnight will be in Ho Chi Minh.

Day 15 – Ho Chi Minh – departure

Breakfast will be at the hotel.

The morning will be at leisure or enjoy last minute shopping.

As per your flight timings, you will be transferred to the airport for flight back home / onward destination with pleasant memories of Classical Vietnam Tour.
