Vietnam & Cambodia Adventure – Day to Day Itinerary

Hoa Lu, Embark on 12 Day Vietnam & Cambodia Adventure and immerse yourself in the communities of the Vietnamese and Khmer people. Delve deeply into the cultures of the two most interesting countries in the Indochina, in our authentic Vietnam & Cambodia adventure. The journey begins in North Vietnam with Hanoi, the elegant capital of Vietnam and day trip to Ninh Binh. Embark on an overnight cruise on the spectacular Halong Bay. The journey continues to the Hoi An and leisurely cycle through the landscape, pass lush green rice fields, local markets and enjoy home cooked lunch at a local house in Duy Vinh. Hop on a kayak paddling to Nypa Palms Forest – known for ecosystem and peaceful scenery and explore Bamboo Studio en-route. Wander through the historical Ho Chi Minh City and visit the network of underground tunnels of the Vietnamese / American War. Explore the mystical treasures of Cambodia’s famous Angkor temples of the ancient Khmer Kingdom, cruise through Tonle Sap Lake’s charming floating villages and watch the sunset behind the mystical, temple-dotted jungle.

ITINERARY

Essential Cambodia - 12 Days / 11 Nights

ADHVAN representative will welcome you at the NOI BAI airport in HANOI and transfer to the hotel.

Today you have a full day to explore Vietnam’s charming capital. With its wide tree-lined boulevards, French colonial architecture, peaceful lakes and ancient oriental pagodas, Hanoi is an eclectic mix that offers something for everyone.

Your city tour will take you to Hanoi’s key sites: the Ho Chi Minh Complex (Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum and stilt house), the nearby One Pillar Pagoda; the Presidential Palace; the Temple of Literature; the Quan Thanh Temple, the sedate Tran Quoc Pagoda & West Lake; and one of the city’s museums (a choice between the History Museum and the Ethnology Museum).

Late afternoon, enjoy Hanoi Street food tour. The guide will take you through the extensive food stalls, local restaurants and vibrant markets of Hanoi’s Old Quarter. Sampling as you wander, you may find the best Banh Xeo (crispy pancake) or Bun Cha (fresh rice noodles with grilled pork) in Vietnam. Finish the evening the same way the local’s do with a cold Bia Hoi (beer) and watch the world go by on the ever-changing street scene of this vibrant capital.

In the evening enjoy a traditional Water Puppet Performance – a unique Vietnamese Art form hailing from Southeast Asia’s wet-rice culture.

Discover Hoa Lu – the ancient capital of Vietnam during Dinh and Le dynasties.

Vibrant green rice fields dotted with limestone outcrops will impress every visitor to the area.

Enjoy a leisurely ninety-minute sampan cruise through the caves of Tam Coc, a photographer’s dream with opportunities at every turn.

See where the movie ‘Indochine’ was filmed, and how it brought fame to Vietnam.

08:30 departure: The pleasant drive to Tam Coc takes two and a half hours.

Along the way; stop where you wish to take photographs of local villages and the surrounding landscape.

On arrival in Tam Coc Town, board your private sampan boat. For ninety minutes your private oarswoman / man will take you down the Ngo Dong River. Pass through the three caves that made Vietnam famous in the French film ‘Indochine’, Hang Ca, Hang Giua and Hang Cuoi.

On the way; visit Bich Dong Pagoda, set among pink lotuses, the temple offers spectacular views of the surrounding area.

Back in Tam Coc Town and enjoy a delicious Vietnamese lunch.

Later drive to Hoa Lu. Visit the temples dedicated to Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang of the Dinh Dynasty (968-80) and Emperor Le Dai Hanh of the Le Dynasty (980-1009). The ancient Hoa Lu Citadel (most of which has since been ruined) once covered an area of three square kilometres.

In the afternoon journey back to Hanoi. Arrive at around 17:00 Hanoi in the afternoon.

After breakfast at the hotel, set out a 2 hours’ drive to Lan Ha Bay.

12h00: Welcome on board – Sealife Group Lounge – Got pier – Hai Phong Province.

Welcome on board at our luxury Sealife Group Louge with welcome drink before having short transfer to the Sealife Legend Cruises – the Legend of the Sea.

12h30: Embark on Sealife Legend Cruises Once you have been transferred to Sealife given a short briefing about your cruise Restaurant.

Legend Cruises, you will be checked in and while sipping welcome drink at Fish Net.

13h15: Lunch at Fish Net Restaurant

Lunch will be served at Fish Net Restaurant while Sealife Legend Cruises goes to Lan Ha Bay by passing Ha Long Bay. You will pass the majestic limestones rising from the emerald sea water of Lan Ha Bay.

15h30: Visit Van Ta Area with Bright Cave | Bamboo Rowing Boat trip| Kayaking| Swimming

Van Ta Area is inclusive of Dark and Bright Cave, border of Halong Bay and Lan Ha Bay, and it is one of the less visited and most intriguing caves in Halong and Lan Ha Bay.

And Sealife Legend Cruises invite you to visit Bright Cave by bamboo boat rowed by local people through some floating houses where they are feeding fishes, clams and oysters.

After rowing boat trip, you have chance to kayak or swimming in the green emerald and cool water (subject to weather, allowance and season) before cruising to the boat to sleeping area.

16h30: Rejuvenate by open Jacuzzi | Sauna | Gymnasium | Massage*

Shortly cruising to sleeping area for rejuvenating your mind body and soul with our open Jacuzzi, sauna, gymnasium and massage* on the third deck (*massage will be on extra charges)

18h00: Cooking Demonstration | Vietnamese Liquor Tasting

After your rejuvenation time, you are welcomed to our cooking demonstration with Vietnamese traditional liquor tasting on the sundeck to learn about traditional cuisines made by fishermen. You will try your hands at making “Ca Thinh” – fermented fish – using traditional vinegar made from distiller’s grains, rice powder, herbs and rice paper. Then cheer up with a Vietnamese traditional liquor tasting. Drinking and having fun in the local style could be a highlight of your day.

19h15: Dinner at Fish Net Restaurant

Savor a delicious dinner at Fish Net Restaurant by choose your favorite dishes in our menu

20h30: Live Pilipino band at Navy Club or Squid Fishing.

Save your dance for a live music performed by a Filipino band and relax with live music in club, enjoy drinks. Or just try your luck at squid fishing or nibble your drink on sundeck with free of mind.

22h30: Free of mind with sweet dream.

Return to your cabin for very sweet dream or relax on our sundeck for cup of beer with your beloved on Sealife Legend Cruises.

Overnight will be onboard cruise.

06h00: Vovinam Session

Good morning new day with Vovinam class – Vietnam martial art or watch the sunrise on the top deck to feel the fresh of the life with a cup of tea or coffee.

06h45: Morning light breakfast

Light breakfast is served in the Fish Net Restaurant.

07h45: Visit Cat Ba World Biosphere Reserve

Very short transfer to the Cat Ba World Biosphere Reserve by tender, and then, you enjoy short transfer from Gia Luan port to HoaCuong Cave by SealifeLgend Cruises’ Bus to visit the cave with beautiful stalagmites and stalactites, located in World Biosphere Reserve (Cat Ba National Park).

09h30: Check out cabin | Buffet Brunch at Fish Net Restaurant.

We check out the cabin and clear the bills before having buffet brunch at fish Net Restaurant while the boat sets sail back to pier. After the buffet, you are free for your own relax in the sundeck.

11h00: Disembark | Check out

Your driver will pick up and take you to the Hanoi airport for flight to Danang.

Arrive in Danang, pick up and check in hotel in Hoian.

 08:30 – The guide will pick you up from your hotel with bicycles and you will set off to Duy Vinh Commune.

The picturesque cycling route is highlighted with rice fields, local gardens and markets. Stop as often as you wish for taking photographs or some easy chat with locals (using our guide as a translator). There is also time to pay a visit to a local organic garden and then a family who are still practicing the craft of weaving sedge mattresses with traditional techniques. Our cycling route ends at a local house in Duy Vinh to enjoy their home-cooked lunch.

In the afternoon, we’ll meet our water gear and hop on a kayak for paddling towards the Nypa palms forest. Locally known as coco-palm forest, this mangrove area has been well known by its unique ecosystem and peaceful scenery.

There might be time for some breaks en-route at an isolated island and a bamboo studio, where talented craftsmen created everything from bamboo.

By 4 pm, trip ends at our kayak station in Cam Thanh.

You’ll then get a transfer back to your hotel.

Today you will take a flight to Saigon.

Arrive in Saigon, your driver will pick up and take you to the hotel for check in.

Depart hotel early in the morning for Cu Chi to visit the Tunnels.

Cu Chi Tunnels are a network of underground tunnels begun in 1948 by the Viet Minh in their struggle against the French. These tunnels were expanded and used by the Viet Cong during the war between Vietnam and America. Americans called this the ‘Iron Triangle’ and was a stronghold of the Vietcong for almost thirty years. Walk underground in the tunnels.

In the afternoon, you will take in the highlights of Ho Chi Minh starting with an exploration of Saigon’s turbulent past with visits to the Reunification Palace and the War Remnants Museum.

Next, explore Ho Chi Minh’s finest examples of French colonial architecture with a visit to the Notre Dame cathedral and Post Office.

Overnight will be in Saigon.

The driver will pick up 6 guests and transfer to the airport for flight to Siem Reap.

Arrive in Siem Reap, pick up and check in hotel. The day will be free and relax.

Start on our bike and cycle (45 minutes for cycling) or drive to world heritage areas on the roads less travelled. Ride among the jungle passing local village and local shop. It’s a very special and acting day as you will explore some of Angkor’s most beautiful temples.

You will visit the West Gate of Angkor Thom – undiscovered by mass tourist. The ancient capital of Angkor Thom (12th century). See the South Gate, Bayon Temple – unique for its 54 towers decorated with over 200 smiling faces of Avolokitesvara The Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas The Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King.

This afternoon, visit the famous temple: Angkor Wat.

Angkor Wat is a World Heritage Site since 1992, famous for its beauty and splendor. Angkor Wat features the longest continuous bas-relief in the world, which runs along the outer gallery walls and narrates stories from Hindu mythology, visit Bakheng Temple and enjoy a romantic sun set view form Bakheng hill.

Relax with 1-hour foot massage before transfer to your hotel

Overnight will be in Siem Reap.

Early morning, start witnessing sunrise over Angkor Wat temple and listening singing birds over the ancient land of Angkor area.

About 06:45am, walk to nearby Pagoda and offering food to monks. After monks finished breakfast, enjoy your breakfast on the ground floor of pagoda, jasmine tea will be served in the peaceful of pagoda.

Go back to hotel for breakfast.

Continue to visit the women museum – Banteay Srei and Banteay Samre

Afterwards, head towards the Tonle Sap Great Lake then board small wooden boat for the trip to visit the village. Cruising down a narrow waterway, enter this medieval floating village, where the houses stand atop stilts as much as seven meters above the water. Everything lives on the water, pigs, dogs, crocodiles and people, all jockeying for space in this incredible floating town.

Head back to your hotel & relax.

The day will be free for you to enjoy the last minute shopping or relax and enjoy the in-house facilities of the hotel.
